Do you ever look at the dog you are grooming, and something isn't quite right? Their hair isn't sitting right or you have to keep going back over a curly coat because pieces just keep popping out? Blow drying could have a big role in these issues. Blow drying should never be underestimated or undervalued. If your dog is bone dry it will smell better, look better and it will make de-shedding and clipping easier. We have some products that can aid in your blow drying routine:

Super Absorbent Towels 

Using a super absorbent towel can cut down drying time significantly, especially on dogs with lots of coat - such as cocker spaniels, husky's etc. Regular towels will only soak up water until they are full, but these towels are easily rung out once they are saturated and can be used over and over again. Why not start your blow drying process with half the water gone?! It saves you time and energy. Also, with a normal cotton towel, you have to run them through a wash cycle after every use. The disinfecting method with our Super Absorbent Towels is a lot easier.  Fill a container with water and vinegar (ours is located under our tub), place the towels in the container and let soak.  This will naturally disinfect the towels between uses.  At the end of the day, be sure to ring the towels out and hang them on rack to dry so they don't get stinky. Every few weeks we run all of the chamois towels through a hot wash cycle in the washing machine to help keep them fresh. Towels are available in pink, green and blue! Quicker Slicker

A Classic! Many groomers know about Nature's Specialties Quicker Slicker already. It is an amazing leave in conditioner and detangler. Quicker Slicker can help work out loose hair on shedding dogs, and also cuts drying time in half! We recommend using Quicker Slicker after getting the bulk of the water off of the coat using the Super Absorbent Towels. This minimizes the amount that gets blown off in the blow drying process. You want the product to be absorbed into the coat. Quicker Slicker works great on all coat types, and makes brushing and combing much easier (on you and the dog!). High Velocity Blow Dryer If you are not using a quality high velocity blow dryer, then you are wasting countless hours! We recommend using the K-9 series by Electric Cleaner Company (CSA approved). Your quality of work will be greatly improved by using a high velocity blow dryer. With the power and heat behind these machines you will be able to straighten curly coats, blow out dead coat in double coated dogs and get an amazingly smooth finish on a double coat. We find using the high velocity blow dryer such as the K9-11 with heated air allows you to cut out the need for a stand dryer. These blow dryers do not have heat elements, but the heat from the motors is just enough to establish a beautiful finish on your clients pets.
